Ebola in Nigeria: 10 New Cases


Nigerian health officials have reportedly announced that there are 10 new cases of Ebola in the country, NY Times reports.
Speaking on the spread of the virus in Nigeria, Dr. Frank Mahoney, an epidemiologist who has been leading the Center for Disease Control’s Ebola response in Lagos, said international health officials are working with Nigerian officials to curb the spread of the virus.

Mahoney also revealed that health experts are working with the government to reach out to religious leaders including T. B. Joshua, to stop large gatherings that could encourage the spread of the virus.
According to reports, most of the Ebola cases involve individuals who had some direct contact with Sawyer, either at the airport or at the hospital where he was treated -First Consultant Medical Center.
