UK Changes Visa Application Centres

The British High Commission has announced changes in its visa application centres in Lagos.
A statement by Mr. Robert Fitzpatrick, Head of Press and Public Affairs, in Abuja, said a new commercial partner, Teleperformance, would take over the running of a new visa application centre at Churchgate Tower 2,Plot PC 31, Churchgate Lekki, from July 1.

However, visa application centres in Abuja and Ikeja, Lagos, will continue to be operated by VFS Global Services, and customer service standards will not change, according to the Commission’s spokesman.
Promising to work closely with the new company to ensure continuity of service standards during the transition period, the commission said applicants would continue to complete their visa application and payment online, before selecting appointments at their nearest application centre.
In addition, all UK visa applications will still be decided by UK Visas & Immigration staff.
“The UK remains open for business and these new arrangements will allow us to maintain a world class, competitive visa system to support Britain in the global race”, the statement said.
He added, “We are listening to the needs of our customers and these changes will improve our service by increasing the number of visa application centres globally.”
