Joan Rivers Said Nasty Things About Kristen Stewart in Her New Book, So the ‘Twilight’ Alum Threatened to Sue Her

Mess with Kristen Stewart, and you might get the horns. But Joan Rivers doesn’t seem to care!

In her new book, Diary of a Mad Diva, the 81-year-old comedienne disses everyone in Hollywood from the Twilight alum and Jennifer Aniston to Lena Dunham and Tyra Banks. Well, it turns out the 24-year-old actress didn’t like what Joan had to say about her one bit, so her lawyers contacted Joan’s and threatened to sue for defamation.


Joan writes in the book, “Many stars only do one thing well. Of course, the best one-trick-pony is Kristen Stewart, who got a whole career by being able to juggle a director’s balls.”
The Fashion Police host is, of course, referring to the time Kristen was infamously caught cheating with her Snow White and the Huntsmen director, Rupert Sanders, in 2012. She was in a relationship with her Twilight co-star, Robert Pattinson, at the time, and Rupert was married to model Liberty Ross, with whom he has two children.
Joan Rivers Slams Basically Everyone in Her New Book
In a new video interview with TMZ, Joan claims Kristen’s lawyer contacted her people and said she’d sue if Joan didn’t axe the comments. But Joan says the prologue of the book, which is due out early next month, makes it clear the references are strictly for laughs.

“My answer to her was: be glad you’re not a Kardashian,” Joan says in the video. “I’m a comedian! I’ve been doing it for 50 years. If people don’t get it, then don’t come see me. It’s OK. Don’t read the book. If you’re going to take it seriously, you’re a fool.”

TMZ claims the actress’ lawyers have backed down because they haven’t said anything since they sent the initial threat.
