Bi-Courtney to Complete Airport Escalator Repair in July
Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd (BASL) has promised that the repair of the faulty escalators at the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA2) would be completed before end of July.
Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr Christophe Penninck, informed travellers that the escalators are undergoing tests and would soon be put to use.
Penninck, who said Bi-Courtney would ensure that the facilities meet international standards when completed, added that, “We will like MMA2 to be comparable to the Johannesburg Airport in South Africa, Madrid and Paris.”
The MMA2 escalators are being overhauled for the first time in eight years.
Penninck also relayed that air conditioners will be installed for better traveller comfort, while the cooling system in the terminal would be overhauled, along with increasing the checking counters from 31 to 45.
He said, “We don't want to build and abandon the project; rather we will build, maintain and ensure the growth of our operation. I will personally supervise the work and it will be ready for inauguration soon,” he assured.
