Between Fayose and the EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has described reports that it had dropped the corruption case preferred against the governor-elect of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, as untrue.

Comments:
A pained diasporan: This is medicine after death. If GEJ could through the courts drop charges against Mohammed Abacha in order to wrest power from Governor Rabiu Kwakwanso in Kano, why will he not drop charges against a PDP governor-elect?

Nigeria will never progress unless the people reject leaders that loot the commonwealth. The people of Ekiti should grow the bags of rice they were given during the campaigns; invest the N1,000 notes given to them in multi-billion dollars investment and sit back to enjoy the show for another torturous four years.

For the EFCC, we understand your stand. But do not be a willing tool in the hand of the Presidency.

Beauty: If Fayose has a case to answer, the EFCC should simply move in, arrest and charge him to court. But wait a minute, why was he allowed to run for such a prestigious office in the first instance? Why allow a suspected fraudster to run for a political office? Nigeria is a funny country.

Osibisa: We must ask the EFCC why they tarried this long (for almost eight years) before informing us, that Fayose has a case to answer. This is pathetic. However, the Ekiti people have spoken.

Punch.
